Labor Day Weekend Beach Adventures

Happy Labor Day 2012.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful evening at the beach.  Baby girl and Baby boy enjoyed their play time in the small tide pool, which created the right amount of water for a toddler to play in.  The weather was perfect, the tide was low, and the sun was in the right spot.  We could not have asked for a better evening on the sand.

How to plan for the beach?
Here are a few tips when going to the beach.  I have always found helpful.

  1. Pick to right time of day for family. (consider crowds and sun position)
  2. Pack a cooler with water, snacks, and small prepared meals.
  3. Limit towels you bring.
  4. Park or setup near facilities.(for showers and potty breaks)
  5. Pack sand toys.
  6. Pack change of clothes for little ones.
  7. Bring a blanket or chairs.
  8. Ipod speaker for music.
  9. Plastic bags for wet items.
  10. Lastly sunscreen and your excited little ones.

It's always sad... when it's time to leave the beach.

Make Your Own Pancakes @ Sugar Mill

This weekend we visited our local spring park in Sugar mill, we had a such great time.  Here we were able to have breakfast in a small restaurant in the park.  At the old Sugar Mill restaurant you can make your own breakfast right in front of you.  Using the griddle located right in the middle of your table.  Their all you can eat pancakes are their specialty.  Not only pancakes but also eggs,  and any add in you would like to customize your pancakes.  The bacon and sausage are the old time way, which makes you feel like a kid again.

We were finished eating we took a walk around the park and the kiddos played on the playground.  You can also swim in the natural spring and go on 3 different natural trails.

Our next trip will we plan on spending the whole day through.  Which will include breakfast, swimming, hiking, bar-b-q, and just enjoying the scenery.  Love this place.

Rock the Night Away

You never know what to expect in life but I never expected to have such a great time at our Nana's Christmas party last night.  If I were 90 years old I would want to enjoy myself as they did.  Man, the party was rocking.  Never once did I think it would have been that much fun.  Singing, dancing, food galore, and decorated so well.  We all cut a rug.  Yes...even Nana.

I find of messed up our pictures by not dressing right for the season, but who cares.  I felt kind of out of place for a while after getting there not knowing if I should sit down, go out to visit the residents, or just dance.  The music was so great I decided to dance, and we all did.  But, baby boy was on the dance floor all night.  I am only hoping that last night wasn't a look into his future.

I want to say thank you to this wonderful facility for having such a great holiday party for the residents and families to share.

Over here Zae

Just love the way the halls were decorated.  How clever, to use these kind of lights with hanging snowflakes.

This could be this year's Christmas card.

Christmas Haul # 2

Our second outing shopping and I think I can make a tree topper with those glitter branches.  Hope I am successful, I didn't see any that I liked.

We didn't find much at the mall.  But, We did find the holiday tins of batteries from Radio Shack.  This is one of the best deals for batteries for your toys.  A tin of 24 batteries for $9.  12 AA & 12 AAA.  Nothing like opening a toy and needing and not having any.  They go really fast each year.  We were able to get the last 2. yeah.

16 months & still in his TOTE

Baby boy is still riding in his tote for a carseat.  We haven't made that upgrade for him yet.  The wonder is........ he still fits in it.  For my convenience I can still just place him in the cart when this happens.  SLEEP.  If he was in a regular seat I would have to disturb him. hmmmm

I never noticed that warning sign on the side of him until I looked at this picture.

Holiday Haul #1

The start of our holiday shopping granted us these bags.  This bag knocks out these 3 stores for now.  Kmart, Babies'r'us, and Target down.  Well maybe not Target.

Isn't it great how some stores have the blackout bags, so little eyes cant see in them.  Perfect for a late night Santa sneak in when the little ones may still up.

This year our wrapping paper will not be matching the tree.  But matching each person's style.  Not mine- disclaimer.

  • the red paper with the small penguin-  Baby boy
  • the white with Santa decorating- Baby girl
  • the black and white snowflakes-  Daddy just had to have the black paper
  • the red and white ho ho  ho paper-  Not sure how I ended up with that but I will take it and make it oh oh oh paper. Oh, I am going to get myself some gold wrapping paper.

Now how do I wrap a drum.

And the Bands Keeps Playing My song

Winter town parade, what a great turn out.  We were a little shaky in the beginning with a few cries.  Once it begin the dancing started.  Baby boy danced with each and every band or float that had music.  There was much candy thrown out for the kids and everyone seem to been having a great time.  The kettle corn stand was setup selling to the crowd.  The clouds opened up to shine a little heat on those in the parade.

The band is on it's way.

The turn out
