Labor Day Weekend Beach Adventures

Happy Labor Day 2012.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful evening at the beach.  Baby girl and Baby boy enjoyed their play time in the small tide pool, which created the right amount of water for a toddler to play in.  The weather was perfect, the tide was low, and the sun was in the right spot.  We could not have asked for a better evening on the sand.

How to plan for the beach?
Here are a few tips when going to the beach.  I have always found helpful.

  1. Pick to right time of day for family. (consider crowds and sun position)
  2. Pack a cooler with water, snacks, and small prepared meals.
  3. Limit towels you bring.
  4. Park or setup near facilities.(for showers and potty breaks)
  5. Pack sand toys.
  6. Pack change of clothes for little ones.
  7. Bring a blanket or chairs.
  8. Ipod speaker for music.
  9. Plastic bags for wet items.
  10. Lastly sunscreen and your excited little ones.

It's always sad... when it's time to leave the beach.

Best of Bubble Buddies - summer 2012

One play date away from the start of school, no better way to share it with your best friend, then blowing bubbles on a hot summer day.
But, you know you just can never enjoy yourself with someone coming up to you asking a weird question, " Are those your bubbles?".  One little girl asked as passing by.
The girls ignored her and just kept blowing bubbles, as they ignored me taking pictures.

Easy Homemade Finger Paint great for Toddlers

Homemade Finger Paint Recipe Great for Toddlers.

The things you will need:
small jars or containers
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons salt
1 1/2 cups cold water
1 teaspoon sugar
Coloring:  food coloring

Here I used old baby food jars to store our paint. This time I started off with 5.

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and mix on medium heat until a smooth liquid.

To get an even smoother texture whisk the mixture before placing into your containers.
Once in the jars, place a few drops of food coloring.  Cap and shake to build your colors.  We love the count down and shake for the magic color.  Store remaining paint in the refrigerator.

Finger painting wasn't his thing so we used q-tips as paint brushes. :)

In the dark in his Sister's room, this is what I found.  Baby boy brushing Sissy's hair.
Sometimes you just have to sleep with one eye opened.

Can babies see Ghost? or Angels

Here are photos of my baby boy playing ghost under a where's Waldo sheet. How ironic, but never the less.  This is his newest game he likes to play.  If you give him a sheet or cover, He walks around and hides in certain spots in the house while being covered with his sheet.

As he was playing ghost I was wondering if babies can see ghost or angels.  So I looked up the true definition of ghost.
And can you believe it there was more than one online definition.  So I went with the most popular,
The spirit of a dead person, especially one believed to appear in bodily likeness to living persons or to haunt former habitats.

I didn't look up angel because we mostly know and have our have our own definition.  Nevertheless, do babies have that 6th sense.

Last week we were standing outside saying goodnight and farewell to Mimi(grandma) when she was leaving the house.  This night my brother was holding the baby, and he seemed to have been bothered by something.  Saying night night is one of his favorite times, so it was odd that he seemed to wonder off at this time.  It was a clear night and the street light was not on, but it wasn't as dark as it could have been.  The baby just seem so distracted.  My brother was holding him and he just quickly turned to the side and looked into a spot where there was no light, no one, no sound, nothing.  It was weird, and it kind of caught is all of guard.  He knows that there is nothing over there but still seem to wonder.  Very distracted repeatedly.  To a point I was like okay goodnight Mimi, we are going in.  Now, why do babies have those kind of moments when they feel or look as if the saw or heard things.  If kind of can be spooky to adults, when you don't see or hear anything.

If you Google the subject you will find many more stories on encounters that parents have had vs. research being done.

I know people say that babies have moments when they see their guardians.  If they are smiling into space, that they are smiling and talking to angels.  But what does that really mean.  Maybe it is just us Mommies and Daddies over thinking it a bit.  They just may be more curious then we think.

And the Bands Keeps Playing My song

Winter town parade, what a great turn out.  We were a little shaky in the beginning with a few cries.  Once it begin the dancing started.  Baby boy danced with each and every band or float that had music.  There was much candy thrown out for the kids and everyone seem to been having a great time.  The kettle corn stand was setup selling to the crowd.  The clouds opened up to shine a little heat on those in the parade.

The band is on it's way.

The turn out

Kitty Come Back

Our neighbor's cat gets out and makes friends with baby boy.

Leaving early in the morning Kitty mcGriddles gets out and post  up along the sidewalk and Zae is so excited.  I was so surprised that he even would come close to the kitty.  Be he did.

I am doggy mommy and have never really been into cats.  We are a dog family and his grandma (aka Mimi) is going to yucked about it.

They both crawled around outside for the longest.  Well kitty walked and baby crawled.  All while all in his pajamas.  Don't forget the binky.

The Circus has come to town. The Cole Bros.

The Circus has come to town.
Our Trip to the Coles Bros Circus.  Man, what and event.  they put on a great show.  Our ticket price was $14.00 for regular admission which was way in the back of the tent.  You were still able to see, but it was just facing from the rear of the stage.  Our two little were free with tickets we received from a friend at our bank.  I felt a little uncomfortable a they rolled cage after cage of tigers(two to a cage), there were 6 ages.  Oh man 12 big beast.  Thank goodness animals did not attack because there would have been no where to go.  Here are a few pic form that night.
This is the $5.00 popcorn which the kids ate before the vendor man left.  It was about a couple of ounces by they had to have it.  Daddy says.
Popcorn Please.

Here is after the poodle show during intermission.  You were able to purchase photos with the dogs from the act on their pink mini car.  There wasn't much of a line for this so I assume the ticket might have been a little overpriced.  Overall this was my favorite part.  I just love the plate on the car. so cute.

One of our famous outing photos.  The star posing in the back, me blinking, and baby trying to take the camera.  next time Daddy will take to picture but he was off to see how much it cost to ride the mini horses.

The mini horse ride that was open before the show began and during intermission.  Tickets were sold to take to the ride and you had to move quickly to make it happen.

You may not be able to see up close but pass the crowd are the cages with the tigers lined up.

This picture was an accident but shows the stands that hold the chair and what the chairs look like.

Lastly here are the tiger preforming in what looks like a thin cage.  Glad I had the seats that I did.  Overall it was a great show.. Cant wait till next year.
